Taylor Made Burners are made to launch the ball higher in your game with better trajectory no matter where you fall on the skilled level. There are two Burners made by Taylor Made and they are the Fairway Woods and the Rescue Hybrids. The two types are featuered below:

Burner Fairway Woods include the High Launch and the Tour Launch. The HIgh Launch has a 49 gram graphite shaft and an Arrow 2 Ultralite 44 gram grip. Golf Is Good For Your Health

Posted in Golf Tips  by Half Price Golf Clubs
October 25th, 2008

Besides being one of the most popular sports played across the world, golf can actually be good for your health. Depending on how you play and whether you choose a golf cart to get around the course or not playing golf can be great exercise. Walking is the best form of exercise for most people. It does not put too much pressure on your knees as running would and it allows effective breathing for the heart rate increase that occurs as you walk from hole to hole. Walking a full 18 hole golf course is equivalent to 40-50% of 30 minutes of aerobic exercise.

Not only can walking the course be good for your health but it can be good for your game. As you walk from tee to tee you will get a better feel for the golf course such as where the hills are and the overall distance. If you take in your surroundings you might also be more relaxed and get some fresh air which could help your concentration. Walking the course will allow time to rid any frustrations that could be built up form the hole before.

Knowing this you can enjoy your golf game even more than you did before.

When To Upgrade to Custom Golf Clubs

Posted in Best Golf Clubs, Golf Tips  by Half Price Golf Clubs
October 5th, 2008

Is it time for a set of custom golf clubs and if so how would you know? If you have reached a plateau with your current clubs and feeling more experienced and skilled it could be time. A sign would be that you are feeling that you could play a better game if your equipment was better.  If you are using low quality non-custom clubs and you feel this way, you probably should just upgrade to quality non-custom clubs, but if you are already using top quality clubs, than it might be time to try some custom ones.

Another way to tell is to remember back to how you upgraded as your skill progressed from the regular beginner clubs to the pro-like clubs you have today. Upgrades are normal and consistent in the game of golf.

Finally you will need to be ready for the commitment and investment that custom golf clubs will bring on. They can be quite expensive and they need to be fitted correctly. Make sure you take this step with caution and if you have made the decision that you are ready to upgrade – go for it! (as Nike would say)

Ryder Cup Won By US Rookies

Posted in Golf News  by Half Price Golf Clubs
September 26th, 2008

It has been nine years since the US won a Ryder cup and this past week Team USA took it back and how was it won, you may ask? It was won by the rookies. This shows that you should never count out a team when you have guys with heart and determination as time will show over and over again.

The Ryder cup held at the Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville Kentucky was center stage last week as the US team which was underdogs upped their opponents, and the expected winners, the British. Six newbies to the team were the deciding factor and led by Paul Azinger they made what has not been done since 1999 a possibility. Although close, the US took the cup and they did it without Tiger Woods who did not play due to injury, and although Garcia, Westwood, and Harrington  were there neither won a match the whole week.

Ping Golf Club Review

Posted in Golf Club Manufacturers, Golf Club Reviews  by Half Price Golf Clubs
September 21st, 2008

Thought we would review the Ping G10 Golf Club for you today. The G10 Draw golf club would probably get a rating of 7 out of 10 for us as it is a good club with the following benefits:

  • It has a comfortable grip
  • The head of the G10 direct well at destination
  • Club is sturdy and at the same time feels light so it is easy to handle
  • The normal flight of the ball is directly down the middle
  • When not hit correctly, the slice is not as much as expected but fade a little on the the right side of the fairway
  • Has a nice sound as it is not as loud as some other clubs when hit almost perfectly

There are some points on the Ping Draw and if you are interested in finding one at a discount visit the ping section and you will be able to search out the G10 Draw and find one at a great deal.

Quick Golf Tips to Improve Your Game

Posted in Golf Tips  by Half Price Golf Clubs
August 7th, 2008

If you play golf and you are beating the others on the course you might not need these tips , but if you are looking for ways to improve your game then you should take note. There are some basic ideas and common sense tactics you can take to improve your game. They are:

  1. Keep your head completely still as this will allow you a straight line and look at the ball and thus a better shot.
  2. Relax your muscles which will help you with keeping the appropriate balance. Your muscles that propel the golf ball also are the same ones used as when you are twisting your body and thus swinging. Balance is very important to have a good game, so relax those muscles.
  3.  Maintain the head of your club in a straight line when making ball contact which will avoid slicing and potential other golf game hazzards.

These three things are easier said then done and takes focus but golf is about concentration. In order to have a good game you must concentrate and not be distracted. This is an obvious but extra tip on how to improve your game. If you have never tried either or all of these things before than you will see that they can make you a better golfer. If you have tried them, consider this another reminder of their importance.
